Expensive, but if you really need it then it is the way to go. I wouldn't do it unless it was truelly needed. Do you have a LOT of lift and a very long drivetrain that would require that you have one? It is the best option for a high pinion 9", better then the Currie high pinion 8.8 gearset that fits the 9" housing version.

i know it is the best option to go hi 9 my rear drive shaft angle is already at like 29 degrees then again my rear driveshaft is 27 inches long. i really dont need it but i am seriously thinking of getting it.

I almost went that route as well, I see alot of rock gardens here in the az canyons. I've been running the ballistic fab pinion guard & decided that was plenty good then I just rotated the axle up & welded in the new spring perches at 2° fully loaded. I carry alot of fuel, gear & rock protection so I made sure that was all on when the angle was set. Even with 6" of lift & a one inch body lift I'm still squatting pretty good fully loaded

I put the Currie chp in about 6 months ago, it works great. I have 5.5 lift with aod and my drive line angles were not acceptable even after shimming the perches. I had the locker all ready so the price wasn't to bad for the case and gears. The hi9 looks and sounds good, plus the price ain't bad for a full set up. I would go with the hi9 just for the added strength, if you really think u need it. But any hi pinion u get will solve the dl angle issue u are having plus it will get that pinion out of the rocks.

If you need a high pinion, and plan on driving it on the street go with the hi9.

Running one for many years.
No complaints.
Worth the $.
I don't sell them and don't get any discount.
Just a great product.
