A family member offered me in Sidewinder winch , (other than shipping), for my bronco. It was off his chevy pickup.

Does anyone have any pics of this winch mounted on an EB?

If I have to re-fab the mounting plate, no big deal, but I need a few ideas of what I'm getting into.

Thanks for your time.

There is a picture on page 73 of this magazine. It should give you an idea. They are cool if nothing else. I think they're suppose to be rated at like 12,000 pounds, right?
It was actually designed for the Bronco, so it should fit very well.
Good luck.

I do have one as well as at least a couple other folks. I'll dig up some pics on the other machine later. The ratings were from 8-10K I believe.

I had one on my 73 Ranger. The sidewinder fits nice on an EB. The only problem I had was that it mounted very low which puts the motor under water a lot while wheelin. I had to have mine rebuilt 3 times.

I know some guys that had them on P/U trucks back in the day. They always worked real good. I think it was Hickey that had the magazine ad years ago with a sequence of pictures that showed a Chevy Blazer being lifted off the ground and hanging from a tree.

I have one of those sitting in my garage! I have the pushbar for the winch mounted on my EB, but the winch itself has a front seal leak, so I haven't mounted it. the spool and gearcase sit next to each other, with a common front plate, and that's where mine leaks. it must be twisted from hard use by the PO is my guess.
I did use it once, and it pulled real hard, but it was pretty slow too
I have an original owners manual for it too
