I thought I would share a mod I recently made to my 24 Bronco Raptor. I got some of the information from Bronco6G forum but I had to make a few changes/improvements that was missing from what others have done.
The High/Lux package gets side mirror spot lights. There are two buttons on the dash next to the headlight control that control the driver or passenger mirror spot lights. When you start driving, the lights turn off. I wanted to be able to turn them on when driving for a number of reasons. I realize they may not be legally to turn them on while driving on the road but I don't care. They would be very useful on dark country roads or off road at night.
First locate the mirror harness on each side under the hood on the inner fender near the firewall. The black wire with a red stripe on each side is the wire that needs 12v to power the mirror spot light. There is a small amount of current running through that wire so a diode is needed to prevent backflow of current from one light to the other. Without a diode, the dash buttons will not function. With a diode, you can use the stock right/left dash buttons and an AUX switch to control them.
I used the AUX 2 switch and green wire with a brown stripe wire to power the lights.
I added the diode inline and a mini 18 gauge Posi-Tap wire tap to connect to the mirror light wire. I used heat shrink tubing to protect the wiring.
