Indian Harbour Bch,
K, so I rebuilt the Holley 2-barrell, pretty straight foward (I think), then slapped it back on tonight, and there's no "jet" of gas squirting into the carb when I pump the throttle. Instead, it's blasting out the seems in the gasket between the carb and the accel. pump housing.

So, Either, that little flapper, one way rubber valve is in backwards (if that were the case, then how would gas be getting into the accel. pump housing?) or there's a blockage in the passageway to the carb. So, tomorrow, I'll take it off and see if that passageway is blocked. That's the only other thing I can think of.

Anyone else?
TIA,
-Steve-

Your bowl gasket is on backwards or you have the wrong gasket. There is a little hole in the bottom drivers side of the gasket to let gas get into the pump bowl.

Follow up: It was the jets that were clogged with garbage. All cleaned up now, and it FIRED UP, but quickly dies every time. I think I have the vacuum hoses wrong for the new electric choke. gonna have to mess around with those later.

Indian Harbour Bch,
Update! It's alive!!! I backed out the idle mixture screws 1/2 a turn, and she ran beautiful! idle is a bit hi, around 800 when warm, so i'll prolly turn them in a bit to get the idle down. It's nice to have it up and running again. Electric choke seemed to work nice too, but I think I need to turn the cap so it stays on a litte longer...
