Indian Harbour Bch,
Hey all,
time to rebuild my trusty Holley 2-barrell, as it looks like it was the accerator pump that was puking out gas all over the top of the intake. Any pitfalls here? Also, while I'm at it, I want to add the electric choke kit. Does anyone know if this carb has "internal" or "External" vacuum? Also, what does that mean?
thanks,
-steve-

Ditto rebuild is easy as for choke conversion Its hard to say. Most holley carbs do have internal vacuum for the choke. External I've never seen other than some chokes have a ftting that hooks up to a souce on the exhuast manifold to help heat them. I'd just go with straight electric not worry about external heat scources. If in question ask holley let them know your carb number and they will telll you what coversion kit fits it.

Indian Harbour Bch,
follow Up: I called Holley, and the Electric Choke kit I needed was one with the "External" vacuum, plus i also needed a "de-choke" kit, it just looks like a rod and another lever. I ordered yesterday... can't wait to rebuild the carb adn get it running again

Indian Harbour Bch,
Yeah, here you do:

these are the two #'s the dude on the phone at Holley gave me. Ordered from Jegs, pretty fast shipping....

the de-choke kit was $5.00

Indian Harbour Bch,
Update: put the 2-barrell back together last night. It was pretty straight forward, not many parts in these smaller carbs. Very easy.
There were LOTS of extra parts in the kit.
I did NOT need the "de-choke" kit for the eletric choke kit like the guy at Holley said. Grrrr....
I'll post again after I run it.
