Holley 2300 install question

I am going to be installing a Holley 2300 and removing the stock carb. Looking it over before I commit to it , I noticed the stock carb has a "pin" that attaches to "pocket" attached to the throttle bar (sorry if my description is way off but trying to describe the best I can). How would I install this on the new carb, where could I get the needed parts.

Thank you in advance for your time/help,

Sonny

If that one is permanently attached to the old carb, that pivot pin is available separately as an attachment. It would have a threaded stud that fits through the hole in the new linkage and a nut holds it on from the back.
Depending on the model/year of the application, that pin would have been an "anchor pin" for a return spring and your linkage would have been a standard bent rod with clip that inserted through it's own hole.
Yours is the more standard modern and aftermarket version where the throttle cable/rod has it's spring loaded clippy doodle thingy that snaps over the pin. Good idea to lube that up when you re-install it.

I suppose there is no consensus whether to lube, or not to lube. And if so, what to use.
I would typically add a dab of grease if i was installing it, or occasionally spray it with something if it was dry and I did not want to unclip it at the moment.
Some do not recommend lubing things like this, for the legitimate reason that it encourages dirt and grit to collect. I personally see a need for lubrication, and a good dab of grease, though sticky and easy to collect grit on, also seals up the pocket and keeps junk out. Including water.
So that's my take on it.

Google "carburetor ball stud" and you'll see a ton of options available.......

I also use a bit of grease on it and haven't had any noticeable gunk buildup

Found an "assortment pack" of ball studs (now have to wait for them), thank you for the quick replies .

Trying to think (plan) for everything that needs to be done to make the installation as smooth as possible and not have to make trips during the installation. The next thing I see posing a possible issue is the angle in which the Holley carb inline fuel filter location is. The stock carb is straight. What did you do or would recommend? (Just thinking out loud) is the inline fuel filter used on the stock carb the same size thread on the Hoey 2300? If it is would it be a good idea to buy (if its available) a fuel line with a 90* already on it to connect the fuel supply line to the filter attached to the carb? Or do I even need a filter off the carb, I have filters between both tanks before the tank switch.

Thank you in advance for your time/help,

Sonny

I just put the Holley carb on and noticed the "kickdown linkage " is too short. (See attached photo) if I hook up the "lockdown linkage " to the carb throttle linkage it will not return all the way forward. I am assuming this will mean the throttle will be open all the time (correct?) What is the bes way to solve this issue? Is there a way to extend the "kickdown linkage " ?

Thank you in advance for your time/help,

Sonny

Holley sells a specific addition for a Ford automatic kick down lever.

It never seems to come on any of their carburetors, even those meant as Ford replacements. It’s always an extra cost add-on.

Ok, so with everyone's help I think I found all the parts needed to install this carb. Question on the "lever extension " , how do you mount/install it to the kickdown lever, the only thing included with the extension was the "c" clip. I have attached photos of the parts.

Thank you in advance for your time/help,

Sonny
