ok, so after a year of very intermittent work, my EFI conversion is nearing completion. I stated off with a 302 with a variety of issues and decided I wanted to spend my money on the EFI upgrade.
As with most projects, it morphed.... What started asn an engine swap turned into an auto tranny conversion with a steering column swap and then added power steering.
I bought a low mileage '96 F150 5.8L. I thought I would tackle the OBDII and Speed Density stuff, but after months of stalling on getting anything done, I gave up. I found a TFI distributor and a different EEC, swapped out to MAF and moved on.
In the end, the PS gear box caused the most problems, but once that was resolved I finally had the opportunity to fire it up.
While there is some tuning that needs to be done, it started right up and sounded pretty darn good.
I can't believe it, I almost have my Bronco on the road. Once I get all the loose ends wrapped up adn the tuning done, I will post some pictures, and tell you all about my first smooth fuel injected ride.
