Hood Scoops....

Alrighty guys, trying to find a hood scoop for my '66. It currently has a perfect hole in the hood of about 13" diameter... I need to get a scoop. Steel Hood. I did a search on this and a lot of people sent pictures of there rides with a scoop, but not where they got it from or what vehicle it came from. I am also trying to figure out if I should do stick on or bolt on. A functional scoop would be great, but not required. The air cleaner only sits about 1/2 inch above the hood. Any pictures and where you got it from would be awesome!! THANKS SO MUCH!!

I got one out of a JC whitney catalog that is a "cobra jet" clone made from abs plastic. gives about 2.5" of extra room, and looks okay too.

There are hundreds of scoops on ebay. I used a 93 mustang looks good and works good. $65.00

I have a classic bubble but want to change mine over to the early 80's Mustang style. You can find reproductions of them on Ebay for about $75.

Here's one off an 80's Mustang I believe. Never did mount it. Couldn't bring myself to cut the hood. Watch E-Bay as said above.

That was the problem... i saw hundreds on eBay... I am not very good at picturing what stuff looks like on my Bronco... thats why I was looking for photos... so far I am liking what I am seeing. With your guys' experience, is the stick on version a horrible way to go with the heat and all??? Does it break down the adhesive??

This is my favorite and what I use. It follows the factory hood line It is functional and works great. It has studs and you drill holes in the hood and tighten the nuts to hold it. I have a good picture in my gallery.

I usually hate it when someone tries to make a Ford look like a Cheby but damn, the "cowl induction" hood DOES look good on a Bronco!

Probably my favorite since it is wider and tha rear and tapers towards the front. It does match the hood lines well!

I've never tried the stick-on types and would lean towards bolt on - unless you drill holes like I do. If so, let someone else drill them for you and save yourself the swiss cheese look..... %)

The hood scoop is one piece and it bolts to a factory hood. I had my center of my hood painted and the scoop painted satin black for a sporty look.

I think that is the one. I am liking that style, not so large I cant see out the window... I already struggle seeing being 6'3"... thank you all for your help... off to find a mustang scoop!

One thing I can tell you about just about all of the hood scoops is they won't give you much more performance at all, even if it is true functional ram air. The reason is the airflow on the surface of the hood is very low, so you won't see much if any performance gain. So, making the scoops functional is probably not worth hacking up a stock hood.

With that being said, I plan on installing a scoop off of a Comet GT. It seems to follow the lines of the hood and looks pretty decent, but I still have to drill some holes in the hood and bolt it down.

I like My wild horses scoop I also cut the center support with no ill effects but then again I never drive faster than 55 maybe 60 tops. Ram air????? forget it I view my scoop as a way to get clean cool air in and help get the hot stuff out considering this thing has an average speed of about 5.

Right click save, that's what I will do after the holidays. I really like that setup.

I've got one off of my 01 mustang GT, looks really good. I haven't made myselft cut my hood and mount it yet, it's on an old rusted out hood on another bronco that I have a fiberglass hood for. Sorry computer crashed, no pics.
