Hey Guys,
I just moved to Houston and was trying to get an idea of how many broncos are around here, and if there were any Bronco-friendly mechanics that I could feel comfortable taking my 77 to?
TIA,
Ryan

Try:

Tech Auto Maintenance‎
37 Waugh Drive
Houston, TX 77007
(713) 863-8244

Work with the owner (Bobby, I think). He has an EB. Works on a bunch of them, as well as jeeps and exotics. Honest. Tell him the guy with the Bronco that works in the building next door sent you. He worked on a CJ for a friend of mine - very happy outcome. I stopped by last year and talked with him for 30 mins about stuff. I'd take mine to him.

I'm sure they are better at certain things than others, but they do just about anything.

I have downgraded the above recommendation. Jeep friend had some problems over there recently. Not with work quality but with professionalism - just not worth the hassle.

I'm in Pearland, just South of the Stadium. Shout if you need help. Don't know any real good mechanics for a Bronco. I know of one sloppy one that drinks too much beer, makes mistakes during rebuilds when he's on the whiskey and lives in my mirror. Scary

There's quite a few guys around here with Broncos. I remember we had a happy hour about a year ago. Due for another.

Welcome to town and hope to meet you soon. You going to Katemcy in April for the Lone Star Bronco Roundup? (20 - 22) Bill

bsquared,

There's a hole-in-the-wall 4x4 shop off of Telephone near B8 - Lee's. Pretty good for some stuff. If I ever get mine back to Pearland, we should connect. If you need some random parts, I have a collection out near 288 :)

I have been trying to find this thread..I found a place called Javiers Auto Unlimited, also known as Gulf Coast Crawl Shop...I spoke with Javier and he was able to install my WH 2.5 system 3 lift and get it done in a day and a half; way faster than I could have done it.. He asked me what he quoted originally because he forgot, and wire wheeled and re-painted all the parts he removed and reinstalled at no extra cost; and all done for a reasonable price. Had a bronco inside that he was working on already, and moved out other vehicles so mine could stay locked in the garage instead of the parking lot. I will definitely go back to him when the heavier mods come. He said he forgot how much fun they were to drive, and after driving mine he regretted selling his and that he just might get back in the market. I told him ab how much I have learned from CB, so maybe we will get another new member here soon.

Also, Glad to see some other ones here in town, I pulled up next to a yellow 68 on Bellaire Blvd last weekend. I used to work in our Pearland office for a little while, and lived at the RV park on south main street, but havent seen any other broncos around. I didnt know about the Roundup, and I'm not sure where that is, if its close I will try to go. If ya'll see a topless blue one running around, that'll be me.
