I used a piece of 1/4" welding rod with a little hook bent in one end. Put vicegrips on the straight part and tapped them with a hammer until it came out. It took forever, mainly because I got pissed off and quit for a while. MAC makes/made a bearing/seal puller with a 90 degree bend at either end and a handle welded on. You could hook the small bend the offending bearing, seal, whatever and hit the other bend with a hammer. If you have one of these or can borrow one that would work better than my method.

I used a long brass drift and drove it out--came out with little trouble.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up putting a pry bar (that had a angled end) through the spidle from the front side and placing it in front of the bearing. I then hit the handle of the pry bar on the ground...forcing it up and out the back side. I needed to use a new bearing anyway.

Thanks Much,
