i am completing my WH 3.5" lift install and have a question. the stock rear shaft is too short. i have an extended one that i installed. it only has 1" of compression before it bottoms out. is that enough or will i need to have it shortened?

1" of compression seems kinda tight. For street driving and light trails it shoudl be fine, but if you actually do some offroading and compress the suspension you may bottom out and do some damage.

Have you tried compressing your suspension to see if you can bottom it out? Try jacking up the front to see if you can compress the rear suspension.

Your other option is to put 10 of your friends in the rear and take a look.

I am no expert, but that is what I would do.
