Hurst shifter - Trouble shifting

Newbie here. I've got a '68 with a 3 speed Hurst floor conversion. Bought Bronco this way. When I first got it, it shifted fine into all gears. Now it's a REAL BEAR getting it into reverse. Is it just out of adjustment or did something get bent? Hasn't been off road since I got it a couple months ago. I had the rear drive shaft replaced, but it still worked fine when I got it back.
If it's adjustment, how should I check it/re-adjust it?
Thanks for you help.

Try to adjust it. On the lower portion of the shifter there's a hole (1/4", I think) that goes through the shift arms and both sides of the shifter. When the shifter is in neutral you should be able to slide an alignment pin (drill bit) through the shifter hole. If you can't you need to adjust the length of one or both of the rods at the transmission. Take the rods off the trans, slide the alignment pin in the shifter, make sure the trans levers are in neutral, adjust the rod length until everything falls into place.

Also check the brackets. When I first got my Bronco, one of the brackets was actually broken and this made for some very sloppy shifts. I would get in there and check that all is bolted up properly (I was also missing the bolt that goes into the back of the T-case.) I took everything out and welded up the broken bracket and it worked great. Unfortunately for you, I no longer have the setup and therefore am unable to provide pictures as a reference. However, I sure do enjoy my automatic...
