Hydraulic hood suspension lift systems

I am looking for the name of the bronco vendor who sells the lift support system for the hood which includes some long support rails which get fastened to the sides of the hood. My stock metal hood is pretty hashed, and has some vertical cracks along it's sides. I would like to get the shocks to lift it, but I also want to stiffen it at the same time. Who offers this?

The one you are describing sounds like the one I bought for my fiberglass hood. I got it from BC Broncos for about $100 with shipping and taxes in there. I love it and was worth every penny IMO.

I thought so, but they do not have the picture on their site. (I'm at work, so I couldn't call.)

Not to beat out Chuck (greatest guy out there) I got my shocks from the UJerk yard. Off the back hatch of the Honda Van, 15 bucks. As to the stiffeners, some 1/8 by 1/2 flat steel bolted or sleded to the hood will do that

Me too, but out of a 86-92 Caddy El Dorado or Seville. $6.00 for both plus $2.00 to get in the yard.

Wonder if those can lift a reverse clip? Fenders, hood and front grill?
Depends on the weight of the clip. the lift cylinders are rated in the number of pounds it will support.

yeah I need to get some of those too. The guy doing my body work won't put them back on since they said it was kinking the hood at the mount. I got them from BC and couldn't believe that they would do that. Old metal though. I am gonna stiffen it up with some strap though I guess.

The reverse clip is Fiberglass except the front grill/radiator support. My question is could it lift it from the frame to the hood and lift it up enough to get out of the way. Seems like to far of distance but the Ford Windstar has a large heavy rear hatch. I bet they're long and strong enough.

they should work as the rear hatch shocks are one of the heaviest used. In this case I would look at some of the hood shock lift systems.
