Going with the wild horse hyd brake upgrade, I have a 71 with power steering, will the original pw steering pump be good enough to run the new hyd brake system?

And what kind of "stock" pump is in there now? Since '71's did not come with power steering, it could be the early style with the small metal filler tube and dipstick, or the later plastic style with the larger filler neck. Which one you running?

Agree that the "canned ham" style Saginaw/Delphi pump is the better pump on the market. More tweakable and more performance right out of the box to begin with I'm pretty sure. But if your existing pump is in good shape, it should also work with the hydro-boost just fine.
Even if it's the old style.

But newer is better in most cases.
What size tires are you running by the way?

And thanks for considering our stuff. Appreciate it.

Tire size will be 32-33 never larger than 33.
Is the canned ham a dual return pump, I'm unfamiliar with ps pumps and haven't herd of dual return ps pump.
Thanks for the info.

Even the current Delphi pumps are not sporting the old true "canned ham" style reservoirs anymore. Look more like they fell off the loading dock at Costco first!
Here's a main page from our site that shows the old Saginaw (listed there under "heavy duty steering pump" and the early style pump found on Early Broncos (listed next to the other one as "stock steering pumps") in the previews: https://www.wildhorses4x4.com/category/Bronco_Power_Steering

Once you click on the heavy duty link, you'll see the new offset shape of the reservoir. Along with brackets and hardware and such to make them work. We don't actually sell the old style stock pumps anymore because our suppliers are finding them harder and harder to stock.
But at least you have the basic idea there in that image.
