I just bought a 2000 super duty HB through Wal-Mart for 133.00 free shipping and no core charge. It was an A-Cardone unit, I thought that was a good price.

Worst quality on the market.

I needed this particular HB for a bracket I'm working on and I didn't have time to scour the junk yards for it. I was happy not to have to pay the core charge and shipping.

Thank you! That makes me wonder if I can just change the bell crank on my existing vacuum booster bracket and if so does anyone sell just the bell crank?

This bell crank only works on the stock 76'-77' angle bracket, or the angle bracket this same guy offers. It doesn't work on the aftermarket angle brackets.
Those are designed to use the smaller no-modify booster, where you don't have to modify the inner fender well.

The Astrovan push rod is 5 1/2 from the mounting plate to the center while the Mustang is 4 1/2. The Mustang bell crank would possibly work on the aftermarket brackets because it would have more adjustment.

Yes, the pushrod for the master cylinder is there. And correct on the parts you need.

This Astro van HB showed up in the classified section yesterday. Is that the rod between the HB and the MC? If so then I just need the bracket, MC, hoses and fittings. Right?

What bracket are you going with? I just helped my buddy install the EBay bracket and bell crank. Works great as long as you remove the DS inner fender. %). I don’t understand how the fit is so off.

Any suggestions on a good master cylinder? I have seen people use everything from the stock Astro Van MC to fancy polished Willwood ones.

Also, my current vacuum system has a disc/drum proportion get valve do I need an adjustable valve or is the one I have good enough?

I'm planning on using this one. The seller is a member on here and I'm assured that it won't require modifications.

That's the bracket I use. Its built like a tank.

The Astro master cylinder may cause hood clearance issues using the "inline" bracket. The low profile
Corvette masters work well. Your combo valve should work okay.

After looking at most if not all of the options for a master cylinder I finally decided this one is my best choice:

Based on the Corvette master cylinder but DirtDonk says it is all new and specifically made for hydroboost use.

Both the wild horses MC and the one from Summit appear to have the same size front and rear reservoirs. Does a disc/drum configuration require a larger reservoir for the front disc? I know my current MC is larger for the disc side.

Also, I gather I should be looking for MC's with a 1.125 bore??

The reservoirs on the master cylinders in the links are fine for either disc/drum or disc/disc, i.e. they're large enough in size. They're based on the 77-82 Corvette master with some nice upgrades including ports on both sides and 3/8-24 fittings.

The 1.125" bore master has proven to be an ideal bore size for the majority of hydroboost applications, offering a nice balance between pedal feel, pedal height and braking power.

Could work, but you're on your own for the parts to make it work with hydroboost.

Not sure what you mean, works fine for me. Not being disrespectful, just sharing my experience.

Exactly what was stated above. Any smaller will result in a low, squishy, super sensitive pedal.
