I suppose I owe that little orange Jeep a big thank you.

Last weekend while I was putting my 351W into the FSB, I set my digital camera on the bumper. And then drove off to the parts store. With the digital camera on my bumper.:(

Once I realized what I had done, I looked for it, to no avail.

Friday evening I was standing in the driveway, looking at the Broncos, a lady pulls into my driveway and hands me my digital camera! She said she found it in the road in front of her house. She said it took a couple of days for her to figure out how to look at the pictures, but once she did, her son said "That's the girl at the bottom of the hill with that little orange Jeep."

I was so grateful, I didn't even correct her.

Sounds like you have some honorable and intelligent neighbors, we'll except for the jeep part. We can't all be Bronco people.

I just did the same thing with my cell phone. Put it on the back bumper of our Suburban, noticed it was missing 20 miles later. Remembered where I'd left it, pulled over and it was still there!!! Whew!

You should have thrown the phone at her and screamed "It's not a #$*@ing jeep!" Well, I guess even those lost in the non-bronco wilderness can be nice people too.

you going to reward them? I'd get them something for being that honest. That is really cool.

yeah, I'd let it slide for that too.
I'm surprised the camera survived the road trip.
Maybe homemade brownies or cookies are in order?

I thought I'd take them some Halloween cupcakes when it gets a little closer to the holiday.

I need to reward the orange Bronco, too, for being so brightly and obviously orange. Hmmm, how about a new suspension from Duffs?!

That's funny. Good to see there are good samaritans out there still. I think I'd let the whole jeep thing roll off my back as well. Maybe in some way, when you give them your "Thank You" you could say, thanks for returning my camera as it has invaluable pictures of my orange BRONCO on it.

no good samaritan or high end electronics but still a bumper story.;D

a medium coke made it about a mile or so when I was a kid on the back of the astro van............It still tasted good after the road grime was wiped off the straw. %)

I want to know what kind of camera it is? I have dropped 2 Sony cameras and one quit all together and the other one is a PIA, if you zoom out and zoom in, you have to shut it off and turn it back on.

Sorry about the hi-jack!

I have lost 2 phones off my Broncos, 1 a blackberry, neighbor picked it up and called my wife, a bit scratched up but still worked fine. 2nd was my current razr, launched it off big pink into the middle of the road, didnt notice till I couldnt find it. Went outside to look for it and see it in the middle of the road as an earth mover is driving right over it. Must have gone right between the tires cause it was just fine and still works.
I have also gone 20 miles with a trailer attached while a 5 in 1 paint tool was sitting on my bumper, got out to eat lunch, oh there it is! Also left a cup of coffee on my tonneau cover and drove about 5 miles down the road till I saw it in my mirror, didnt even spill a drop!

I lost a digital camera off the back of my truck. We put signs up along the road and about a month and a half later a woman called and said she thought she had our camera. Only reason she stopped to look at the sign is because she thought it was a garage sale sign. A couple of hours later her husband called and asked what the camera looked like and we described it to him. Then he asked what year that nice bronco it was in the pics pulling stumps. I explained to him that the pictures are always taken from far away to accentuate the beauty of my rusted, door sagging 73 bronco.

So Babygirl, This has turned into a thread of "what did you leave on your rig" stories. It looks like Tito has a lot of experience in this, ha ha. The only other time I did this was when I left a cell phone on the roof of my Pinto... never saw it again

Glad you got your camera back!

It's an Olympus SP-350. I picked it up on www.newegg.com in May of 2006 for about $350. It had a scuff on the housing in one corner, but no trouble whatsoever otherwise. I have a Nikon D50 DSLR also, but this little Olympus takes fantastic pix and is easy to tote around in my purse. The lady who returned it said the batteries were all over the road too.

I knew it couldn't be far from my house because I live on a hill with lots of curves. It ended up being just about 5 houses up the road.

I think Tito needs to consider checking all outside surfaces of his vehicles before take off.

Oh there is many many more, I just skimmed the surface. I really should do a full vehicle monitor before driving away, this is true, ask the wife.

i understand how ya feel, i put my camera on the step of a 4-horse/living quarter sundowner when i was working on the site's website, and it went for a 15 mile blast down I-26 in western NC.

when they pulled back in...

there it was.

holy_CRAP!

great feeling to have it huh?

aren't you glad there was nothing dirty on there?

not that there is or would be, but i figured it'd be way to amusing to not mention, had your neighbor seen that!
hahaha
