Identify the carb

Need to do a rebuild but don't know what kit to buy. This is the only real marking along with a 1.29, which I guess is the vortex size. Came off a 6-cyl 1967. Help!

No identifying metal tag under a screw head I take it?
Never understood why everyone seems to think they should be tossed when they're working on the carbs.
Whenever I've had to buy a kit where there were ten choices and no numbers, I just punted and hoped I got the right one. Bringing in the bowl gasket and the needle-and-seat assembly to compare to the kits in the store is a big help. But only if they'll let you open the boxes and look through the clear wrapping.

Good luck. How many choices did they give you?

2100s were on V8 broncos its a 2 barrel carbs 6 cyl engines came with 1 barrel carbs either the autolite 1100 or some came with a carter 1YF carb.

Pony Carb

I got tired of trying to figure it out and sent it off to Pony Carb to get it redone. ~$300 and less of a headache for me. Thanks for the help.

Wow $300+ vs $20 and a little time. I could think of a lot better things to spend that kind of $$ on. really if your going to run a carb you should learn about it they do require adjustment and rebuilds from time to time.

Sorry I'm pretty new to engines.

Turns out its an Autolite 1101 with parts missing. Anyone have a diagram/picture of how this should be setup on the inline six? There wasn't much connected to it in the first place. Just fuel line, manual choke cable, throttle cable... no vacuum line. I was asked if I had the Load-o-matic distributor but I have no clue. Seems I don't since the Spark Control Valve was missing from the carb.

1101 won't have a SCV, will have a vacuum port for distributor. What year is your engine? It won't work properly with the LOM distributor. Here is a pic of the inside of a LOM dizzy.

Thanks for the picture. I'll try to pop the cap off and take a look for the springs.

I believe it is the original 1967 inline six. So if Pony Carbs is correct and I have an Autolite 1101 then I must not have the LOM. If I did have the LOM w/ 1101, and with or without vacuum line connected, the engine would run pretty rough or bog down all the time?

Actually the 1101 was famous for bogging anyway. Even with the LOM you should be able to cap the vac port at carb and get it to idle good. 68 is when they did away with the LOM and went to a centrifical and vacuum advance distributor. If you want to be sure on carb, the 1100 had a 1 7/16" throttle bore. The 1101 has 1 11/16" throttle bore. Did some further checking and the early 1101 used on the 223ci engine actually had a SCV and would work with the LOM.
