Idle speed, water temp, and oil pressure

Just out of curiousity, what are most of you seeing for average water temps and oil pressure? My water temp seems to be hovering around 170-180 degrees right now, and my oil pressure is at ~30lbs. when cold, ~15-20lbs. when warm. Are these numbers ok?

Also, after doing the headgaskets, my idle speed seems to have gone up from about 600 rpms to about 750 rpms. Is this ok?

This is all for a stock 302, btw...

...for an engine with some miles on it. Mine has less than 100 miles on it; temp runs around 170ish, oil pressure warm is around 40 psi at idle and up to 80 at higher RPMs.

;D ;D ;D Since you came up 150 rpm mite make sure no vaccum leaks. And as for the oil it should be 40 lbs at 2000 rpm at operaiting temp. And the temp should be were the thermostat is set 160, 180, 190, ect + or - a few good luck .   Bill  %) :p

The rule of thumb for min safe OP is 10psi for every 1,000 rpm.

A little heavier oil might help the OP a little.....20/50

hmm, sounds like my oil pressure is definitely a bit low then. I would have thought 10/30w was heavy enough, but I guess not. Anything else I should look out for?
