inner axle seal question

I'm rebuilding my Dana 44 and noticed the inner axle seals are different than the ones that come with the master rebuild kit. I have a flat seal with what looks to be a guide behind it.





Has that style been replaced with this one to be used without the metal guide?

The one on the bottom looks more familiar to me but it's been a while.

Your new one provided all the diameters are correct will work.
