Inside Spare Mounting Ideas

Interested in the various ways the spare can be securely stored inside.
I am familiar with the stock tailgate mount - not interested as I like to lower and use the tailgate as a table while camping.
I do not have nor intend to have the back seat installed. I don't want to just throw it in the back as it takes up too much room. Thinking about a vertical install up next to the wheel well or something of that nature. I only plan on hauling a spare while camping and such - not daily.
Ideas, custom solutions, pics?

Elan here on the forum picked up a bronco recently with one mounted over the tire well inside, might pm him for a pic. It was a custom built mount of course.

I built a mount like that in a wagon I had for a 31" spare - that was about the max tire size to fit above the fender well and under the top. Pretty simple to do. The bottom of the bracket mounted to the top of the bed rail, and the top of the bracket was bolted to the seam up above the side window.

Somewhere I have pictures. Could look for them if you're interested.

Not sure if this would work for you or not:

I used the seat belt bolts holes, and I had to move the seat forward to fit the tire there:
