Looks like I have to replace the intake manifold gasket on my 1970 302. The original intake was replaced at one point with a Holley Street Dominator 4 barrel intake. I was just going to pick up the basic Felpro intake gasket set for $15 at Advanced Auto on my way home but noticed the High Performance Felpro gasket set is in stock at the auto store on the other side of town for $29. I only want do this one time so is there any advantage to using one over the other? Thanks.

I'm not an expert on this subject but I was told to use the printoseal gaskets from Fel-Pro. I have aluminum heads and an Edelbrock Performer intake. I had to redo the work becuase I didn't use a light coating of RTV around the water ports the first time. Make sure you retorque the bolts after a couple of heat cycles too.

I just installed a new Edelbrock Performer intake. From their instructions:

GASKETS: Do not use competition style intake gaskets for this street manifold. Due to material deterioration over time, internal leakage of vacuum, oil, and coolant may occur.

I would use standard gaskets with a street manifold.
