Considering adding some ambient lighting under my dash. Any thoughts on the best type of lighting and how has everyone connected the lights. I would like them to come on when I turn my headlights on.
I added LED light strips with a self adhesive back. You can cut them to whatever length you need and just stick them to the bottom edge of the dash. I wired them in to a wire that was already under there that is controlled by the headlight switch.
It's been years since I hooked them up so I don't remember the color of the wire. I'll try to look under there tonight and see if I can see where it's hooked up.
Yep, blue/black wire. My ‘69 has this wire under the dash to the left of the steering column. It’s a pigtail that sticks out a few inches from the main dash harness. It has a female bullet connector with molded black rubber insulator.
