I have a '76 Ranger in great shape. The interior is not bad, but I want to take it to the next step. First thing I want to tackle is to take out the old carpet and put down Dynamat, then replace the carpet. I am looking at Tom's pre-molded replacement carpet. Has anyone had any experience with this product, and if so, could you provide feedback? Next, although the houndstooth cloth door panels are in good shape, but I was thinking of replacing the backing with something like Lexan or fiber board. I have to take the panel off to replace the door lock (PO lost the key). Is this a fool's errand? Am I going to tear up the upholstery trying to put a new backer on it? And if I am going to do the door panels, I would like to do the rear quarter panels as well since I am going to have to take them off the put the Dynamat down as well. Finally, I know that I have seen the complete replacement hardware (dash bolts, etc.) on Tom's or another site, but when I looked back, I could not find it. Does anyone know where I could look.

Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Just did my 1977 Ranger
This is where I got hardware: http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/c-78-hardware.html

and Melissa at Bronco Hut for Ranger interiors: http://www.broncohut.com

This works great instead of Dynamat for sound deadening: http://www.lowes.com/pd_154017-8132...&Ns=p_product_qty_sales_dollar|1#BVRRWidgetID

And for thermal insulation: http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay...gId=10051&cmRelshp=rel&rel=nofollow&cId=PDIO1

I used a layer of both on floor from firewall to tailgate, above headliner, and inside rear quarters. Peel n' Stick only inside doors due to space. This will bring your old Bronco into the 21st century in terms quiet coziness. Also saves big $ which you can give to Melissa!

This is my next step: http://www.broncohut.com/Home/tabid/39/ProductID/1366/Default.aspx#.Ugi51bQQmX0

Tan and Houndstooth

Great thanks for the links, that is what I am looking for. Do you by chance know who may carry the tan and houndstooth cloth for the door/quarter panel inserts? Before I embark on this journey, I want to be sure that if I screw a door panel up I can get a replacement. Everyone that I have seen so far only has the solid parchment/white/black.

Many thanks,

M
