intermittent Charging Problem

Was having intermittent charging, randomly cycling between 12 and 14 volts. Narrowed it down to broken AMG (mege) fuse.
Was surprised to see it had only a small piece of metal connecting the two ends. Looks like solder, but it's not as I put a torch
on it and it wouldn't melt. Whatever it is, it carries current to charge the battery and power the ignition and accessories. Really?
I had some ANL fuses on hand and took one apart to see how it was configured. It's what I expected the mega fuse to look like.
All I had were 150A on hand, got some 175A on order, but so far so good.

Interesting! Thanks, I always like to see what stuff looks like on the inside.
