Intermittent Wiper Install Q?

I just pulled the intermittent wiper set up off an 86 Bronco. I am now getting ready to install it, but I do not know where to start on my own bronco. I discovered that there is not much space to work under my dash and I cannot easily differentiate where the wires start or end. What is the best approach to removing the stock wiper switch? How do you remove the chrome wiper switch bezel on the dash? Does it just pop off? I am hesitant to use a small flat head to remove it due to fears of scratching it and my dash. I can see the nut attaching the switch to the dash within the chrome bezel. I just need to get access to it.

Allen head takes the know off, then i use needle nose to remove the nut. Nix Trix makes the tool I think. The inter wiring just plugs into the factory wiring, but you have to repin one wire to make the washer work. Look on the side of this board, I think there is a tech article.

Small allen wrench is used to loosen the small set screw which retains the knob to the switch shaft. It is located in the small hole in the side of the knob. I used a small pin punch to remove the bezel nut, and to tighten it on the new switch.

Awesome! Makes complete sense. I was wondering why I could not just pull the knob off Thankfully, I did not brake it off.

I just bought a wrench form Jeffs for the bezel nuts that works pretty well. If you have much dash work to do, it would be worth the 13.00. It would keep your nuts in better shape than pliers or a punch. I know guys, I left myself open on that one.

I just removed the bezel nut and wiper switch successfully. Unfortunately, I cannot locate where the switch wires attaches to the main harness. It seems to disappear into the back of the dash. Is it above the stock stereo or below the steering column?

I just made this absolutely simple upgrade a million times harder than it actually is. I just did not think that the power supply into the stock wiper switch is the actual part that goes into the intermittent wiper power connection. I feel pretty dumb right now, but live and learn I guess. Thanks for all of your help. The upgrade works terrific! Simple luxuries that make life so much easier ;D
