My threaded nipple on the block that your oil filter threads up onto is in pretty bad shape. Can it be removed? Let me know. Also..where would one get another one to replace it?

Thanks Much,

Yes they are removeable usaully a little tough to remove and you may screw it up. Not sure on a replacement other than a junk yard but Ford may service that part. or you could get a remote filter kit or angle adapter off a early econoline van. I've also found a nice angled adapter with oil cooler ports on 1987 F250's with 460 engines. I plan on installing this setup on my 73 it should allow the filter to be installed straight up and down no more messy filter changes. I'll get the P/N for it when I get home as I believe this is still availible from Ford also.

Yes it is replaceable, just use a pipe wrench on the old one, new ones take a big allen wrench.
Crown Vics also have nice oil coolers.
