• Be EXTREMELY cautious if someone offers to buy your Bronco for more than your asking price and sight unseen. ESPECIALLY if the buyer is overseas. It's probably a scam.

WARNING!!!! Until someone can post a video of the installation procedure i'd hold off on buying these. Tom's sends them out with no instructions what so ever and due to there tight fit I've destroyed a set of gaskets and have not come even close to getting one in. I'm going to contact Tom's on Monday and hopefully the stand by what they sell and either show some proof these have been test fitted and successfully installed, offer up some new gaskets or more to my liking a complete refund. Just offering this as a warning before you cut the shit out of your fingers from pulling on para cord and waist money on gaskets and windows the look great sitting in your back room.

I put a set in mine, not fun. I went through a set of gaskets and had sore hands for a week. I ended up cutting 1/8" out of the hardtop opening to get them in. Hopefully his new design works better.

Oof, thats not good!

I will wait to order a set until the issue is resolved.

On another not I wonder if all bronco hard top window openings are consistently the same size?

I measured several original OEM glass panels prior to finalizing the dimensions All were too close to same to note any difference. The size of the outside flange on these window frames is the same as the OEM glass panels.
The problem isn't with the fit of the window frame in the top once installed, it is that there is NOT adequate clearance to easily get the gasket flap pulled between the frame "box" and the flange to the inside during the install process . As you likely discovered you can get the gasket pulled in to about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way around but the last stretch is tight and the final corner is usually where you tear the gasket. If you start at the upper front and get it and the top in, then use a c-clamp (I used vise grip welders clamps) with wood blocks to clamp the frame (compressing the gasket) as tight as possible to the front and top flanges you can create enough clearance to get the rest of the way around. Before you start make sure your flange is clean and free of rust or burrs, ESPECIALLY at the corners. It might help to round out the sharp corners but I did not do that. Then wax it with canners parafin or candle wax, then use plenty of Polywater J to get it roped in. Polywater J is available at any electrical supply house for around $12-15 a quart or on Amazon for double that, a quart goes a long way. Polywater is super slippery and water soluble so cleans up easily. I wouldn't be without it in my shop! Don't use 3M or Ideal or any other pulling lubricant, they just aren't as slick.

I re-designed the extrusion for the second batch to allow 5.5 mm additional clearance all around the "box" portion that protrudes through the gasket and the gasket itself. This allows the gasket flap room to deflect during installation which makes it a much more tolerable job getting the flap roped through to inside of flange. From the outside the windows look virtually identical to the windows you have. From inside the glass panels and frame are 5.5 mm smaller which is barely noticeable. This batch of 100 pair includes 25 pair of silver frame with clear glass. The ETA for these is around Thanksgiving. Between Toms , Wild Horses, Bronco Designs, and NE Classic Ford all 100 pair are committed and should be in their hands and available before year end.

Capitol response! Back on my list for purchase.

Good tip on the polywater J as I certainly never heard of it.

I just got 4 pics from a customer in Flagstaff AZ that installed his first window this afternoon.
He did trim his window opening and had a tough time but it looks fantastic and he is very happy with results.
For some reason I can't post pics anymore. The "insert image" asks for a HTTP address. I know I am old and challenged but this used to work :(
If anyone can help me out here I will post the pics

Just pay to become a member, Or since you are now selling pay the upcharge to be a vendor here at CB.com
Member price is 12$ a year and helps support the site and you can post pics. No idea what vendor pricing is?

I’m the guy from Flagstaff and I love them! GREAT QUALITY, way better than the original aftermarket windows supplied in the ‘70s-80s. These are powder coated black they look great! I’m sure if yours auto glass guy these would go in easy, but for a novice it was tough! If you pay close attention to the directions and use the kit supplied by the manufacturer AND APPLY THE NOTED PATIENCE suggested you will get them in. I agree with Derelict, I can’t post pics either! I would if I could! Great windows, they exceed my expectations!

I guess my membership had expired. I re-upped yesterday and was confirmed by email but my status still has not been updated from "User" to "Contributor". I emailed the admin but nothing yet. As soon as I can I will post pics and the instructions. Meanwhile you can email me at tomndine@outlook.com and I will send them direct. I am not actually a "vendor" on this forum

Well lookey here, I just got updated.:)
It is hard to tell these are sliders from the pics but both front and rear panels slide and rear has sliding screen also. here is a pic of silver frame / clear glass as well

Here are pics of window installed in my personal top. This was done WITHOUT trimming or modifying the top, by myself, sitting in my gravel driveway. It was a lot of effort and would certainly be easier if you trim the opening a bit but can be done. Unfortunately I no longer have any of the original windows (I sold this top with windows and bought a new Bronco Designs fiberglass top, which will get a pair of the re-designed windows) so I cannot shoot a video.
