In the quest to build my wifes bronco, I had to find Jade stuff. Jade reproductions were an option but I heard the wait time was a long one, so I started buying all the jade stuff I could find. I ended up with three sets of complete interior, two dashes, and lots of interior panels. I took the covers which all had some forms of damage to an upholstery guy and with reluctance he rebuilt the covers using the old material and reinstalled. He was hesitant because he was fearful the vinyl wouldnt hold up, however he said it stitched up perfectly and was thicker than the stuff he buys.

At the end of the day, I should have just bought reproductions but I think it was cool I was able to save them.

Its gonna look nice. I looked forever for seats, and all the stuff I bought was from up north where it hadnt gotten all cracked and hard. The stretching process to get the seats covered would have probably destroyed them if they had been old and brittle like my other seats.

When I was restoring my 77 Ranger I found some original seat covers. The vinyl was shot but the houndstooth was pretty good. I had an upholsterer stitch new covers with new vinyl and original houndstooth. Another option.

I like the '77 Jade interior also. That's a cool restoration process on saving the seats trailerjack! You had better hang on to that upholstery guy if you can afford him! They are pricy usually if you find a good one! The driver's seat in my Porky had a little repair, but the rest is original....even the carpet! I think it looks pretty good for 46 year old threads! 037.JPG
