JBG slotted disc question

Anyone using the slotted disc rotor from JBG?

When I went to press the studs through the rotor to assemble with the hub there was no interference fit.
It just slopped right in!

I guess the part of the stud that would normally wedge into the hub isn't long enough to reach it and it'll need to be a little thicker for the press fit into the rotor. Roght now with the stud just dropped in the threaded part starts just when it peaks out of the outer surface of the hub, so it would seem the length is okay.

I've got a call in to them but they need to get back with me later today. Figured I'd see if anyone here had run into this.

Thanks, -Rob

It looks like you've just got the wrong studs.

What studs are you using? You may have to ask JBG what you need, but they're probably the same ones they use for a 76-77...

Yeah, these are definitely the wrong studs.

Since it was the weekend when I found this out I stopped at the local parts shop to compare what I had to a '76's studs. Exactly the same diameter at the corrugated neck of the stud, its between .610 and .615 on what they sent and what the shop had.

I talked to Josh at JBG this morning and he's s'posed to call me back by the end of the day with a clue. If I knew what to get I'd just run out and get 'em locally.

(Warning: Noob rant ahead)

So here's the punchline. Due to a phone outage on their end, JBG couldn't call me back. It's a good thing I called back myself but these things happen. After calling. And calling back. And holding on line while Josh and Jeff did the math, Pat comes on the line and tells me I need the longer studs. Uh, yeah...

They'll ship 'em ground so I'll get 'em Thursday but wouldn't work with me on an overnight delivery. I just spent about $1200 on parts from them and they won't eat $33 in shipping to correct their mistake. I suppose business is business (and I've been in their shoes), but after getting bum info from them on the spacer orientation (rednck21 & Saddleup set me straight) I gotta say I'm somewhat underwhelmed. The old addage of YMMV stands true. My mileage varied all over the road and into the ditch.

I did learn something positive though! When shopping for my spindle socket, JBG said "We're out. Anything else?" James Duff said "We're out, but let me get the part number so you can grab one locally." And they're moving to Tennessee. Even closer than Michigan. Must be karma.

Even more good news! I can spend the next few nights sourcing;
a front bumper and a
back bumper (wife likes the one with the tank/cooler racks)
front and rear lockers (leaning towards ABS)
family roll cage
hi cap fuel tank (w/ skid plate)
hi cap aux tank (w/ skid plate)
winch (seen that Warn winch with the compressor? Cool!)
3550 adapter kit
