Keep or Sell Doors

Looking for opinions. I have a pair of hard doors with no rust (repaired) with all the glass and workings, minus the top lock knob (Why lock your doors with a soft top they can just open, don't even have the key) but otherwise the wing window glass frames are rebuilt and such. Yes they are rhino lined and the window crank handles need replaced, which I have.

Basically, you could scrape the rhinolining off and paint to taste.

Here is the dilemma. I NEVER have the doors on. And now that I got the WH tube doors I doubt I ever will. My 73 is not a daily driver and not original. And in coastal SC, if you have the doors on and windows up its a hot mess inside, and if its cool enough to have the windows down, then why have doors? if it rains I don't have to drive it. I guess I am answering my own question. Keep in mind I live in a multifloor condo and keep the EB down the street in a shed. Seems a waste to have them doors sitting in the shed, but I keep thinking I may want them if I replace the fiberglass body with a repro steel tub and go a different route, but that is dumb.

I should just sell them I think and recoup the space. WTH do a pair of doors go for these days? Not shipping them, they are heavy as hell.

I’m in SoCal, once I secured a set of soft doors, the hard doors never went back on. After about 7 years of collecting dust, I finally sold them. No regrets so far! I say sell them.

I've had min sitting in the garage for probably 10 or so years.. I am afraid to sell them though, cause once they're gone they're gone.

Dammit, Tater! that is my thinking. but, if I ever decide to do a full steel body and nice paint, will getting new steel door and guts be even a blip on the radar of money? And as much as I would think it would be great to do, I doubt that it will happen.

And not to one-up you, but I have had those doors sitting around since 1998 and had them on a dozen times or so.

Kind of my thinking too..

I "Sometimes" would want to put them on if I get out in the wintertime for some wheeling or playing around...

little more enclosure compared to tube doors

Hang them up on the shed wall and forget about them, If your not going to ship them most likely others in your area are doing the same as you and going doorless.

I sold a single door for $100. I bought a set of 68 doors for $300. Shipping for doors are extremely expensive.

I would not sell them. Good ones hard to find. Some day you may want them. I have the issue. I dont use them but hang them on my wall.

Doors

Yup I got rid of my doors N don’t regret it In Cali I don’t need them. When we head up to do snow runs I have a set of soft doors I put on. And that’s once a year n way easier to store. They stay in the rafters of the garage ;D

When I sold my Bronco, I had tube doors on it and would never have put the full doors back on had I kept the Bronco. However, since my old ride is on its way to Alaska, the hard doors were definitely a selling point. Would not have sold it to the buyer without them. I had made a wooden dolly to store them on in my garage, and yeah, they took up space, but so did all my other Bronco "extra parts" that went with the sale.

I vote to KEEP EM 'just in case'.

I think it depends on how many broncos you plan on owning.
I took the doors off of my first one and they just got in the way until I sold it, I am now on my 8th one, ( I tend to build, drive, sell them), but this last time the doors that came with it were trashed so I had to scrounge up a new set.
They have definitely got more expensive over the years.

I'd keep them if I was you, only because they're sooo hard to find. I was looking for a nice set for a long time and finally found some in Phoenix AZ, but they cost me $1000 %). Mine are perfect and never repaired which is why I paid so much, but if you sell yours with the rhino lining and missing parts, They'd still be worth around $350 in my opinion. Fix them up super nice and you'd get alot more

I agree, When I built mine in the mid 90's I put on a proflow hood and sold the original hood. Same thing with my back fenders and other stock parts. These rigs have gone up so much in value now that it is getting a lot harder to get oem parts.

I kept mine. Wrapped them in plastic and storing in the shed. Going on 15 years but they're perfect and painted so I can't see selling.
Seems like everything EB goes up in value. x2 on the resale as others mentioned.

1st thing I did after buying my Bronco was to take the doors off. Kicked them around the garage for a while and tossed them (not in very good shape). That was 18 years ago and no regrets
