I need some help.

Hi everyone. Back in college my friend and neighbor had an Early Bronco. He was a member of the EB Registry and got the newsletter (Horsin’ Around) sent to him once a month. After he’d had his way with it I’d give it a good going over. Sometime in 1996 Horsin’ Around ran an article about a special equipment package that was offered on 68 and 69 trucks called the “Sportsmen’s Edition” or “Fishing & Hunting Special.” I remember the article saying that these trucks came with fishing rod and gun racks, which frankly sounds pretty damn good to me. There was also some badging and I believe a special winch. Unfortunately my memory isn’t very sharp so I was hoping to find another copy of the article.

Unfortunately, I didn’t make a copy of my friend’s Horsin’ Around and he’s since lost the issue in a move.

I’ve talked to Steve Samson and the EBR folks, but a computer crash in 1999 deleted all of the digital copies of the back issues of Horsin’ Around. They didnt have a line on any hard copies laying around.

I’m hoping that someone out there might have a copy of that Horsin’ Around on their shelves. I’ll gladly pay for your time and effort to make a photocopy or scan of the article and any shipping that would be involved. Or maybe even trade some spare parts for it – let me know.

Here's a photo of one that came up on eBay awhile back.

Never heard of it, but I wouldn't be surprised either. It may have been a dealer add-on kit that few dealers took advantage of. Let us know if you have any luck - I'd be curious to know more about it myself.

Thanks!

Kutty: The Nov '96 issue has a picture of the badge in it and a letter from a guy back East somewhere asking for more info on it. I don't see any articles on them though.

I remember seeing a '69 Sportsman Special in Flagstaff, AZ back in the early '90s. It was always parked in the parking lot of the Flagstaff Mall.

I knew I'd seen that somewhere before.
