unfortunately she's my best female pointer only because the only other one I ever had GSPB#1 NEVER pointed a single bird. quartered beautifully just had no idea why. This one points and as soon as one of my males shows up she backs off and watches the excitement.

she looks good though and covers a ton of country, so I tolerate her. she was 3 in the picture she's 8 and starting to grey now.

We had a chocolate lab that would disappear hunting for a downed bird. There was a field trial and she ran off into the marshes near Waupun, WI looking for a wounded bird--couldn't call her back. She was gone for over an hour and we were worried but she eventually dragged herself up on the bank with the bird and everyone shut up then! She definitely was a handful though.... heck, every Lab we had was a lot smarter than people give them credit for. I love the pointers though. Sounds like yours has heart, kind of like the challenged ones, they provide so much entertainment.......

I have spent hours looking for my pointers over the last 30 years of running them. Usually in their first two years they are easily side tracked by deer or rabbits. I lost what turned out to be the best dog I ever owner at 4 O'clock one evening and sat up on a ridge firing guns, blowing whistles and honking car horns as the temp dropped below zero. He came into the headlights of the truck at midnight.

I bought this and no longer have an issue. Paid more for this than my Bronco. :)

Very cool to see spouses working/playing together. If I had helped the Ex with her llamas and she with my toys, things would be different. Keep up the teamwork.

I love German Shorthairs. I had a male that was smart, pointed well and retrieved. Had to get rid of him though because he developed a mean streak at about 2 1/2-3 yrs old. One of the hardest things I've ever experienced. I found out later his sire was put down for the same thing.

GSP is a great dog, we have had one or two over the years since the mid 60's, just got another one this past Christmas. Great disposition, loyal and good protectors.
