probably not needed. Mass Air will yield better responce, a little more power, better idle quality.
AND the big advatage is the ability to keep all those increases over time while the engine ages.
piston rings fail, oil blow by, gunk build up on the valves and inside the intake....
Mass Air will learn and run the engine almost exactly the same as these happen. thats why you see so many cars 150,000+ miles, blue exhaust, sputtering down the road, and the driver is cluesless.
Speed Density can try to learn, but is handicaped by the factory preset programing.
Mass Air still won't help you if you get crazy with the cam, install rice-burner injectors, or increase the displacment.
