Leaf Spring Shackle Question

I just purchased new shackles for my leaf springs as the previous owner had installed homemade brackets to try and get more lift in the rear. When I lowered everything back down the shackle rubs against the gas line. Is this the normal position or did I install this incorrectly?

No they should not rub even through their entire rotation.
Looks like you have it installed correctly (stock shackles, opening to the rear?) but maybe your body mounts are sagging and the body is pushing the tank filler neck down a bit?
Any other changes, such as springs?

Is that a stock tank, or aftermarket? If an aftermarket, maybe it can be pulled up tighter to the body?

How about some more pics if you can?

Thanks. Good luck.

It could likely be the body mounts. The ones in the rear are rusted out and gone which is my next project. It is a stock tank. I'll try and get more pics.

True. Didn't even take note of that. Don't often see the tubing on the outside of the frame.
Now we're curious what'cha got there MS!
