Lifting bronco by the radius arms?

Bad oil leak today and I mean bad, really bad. I decided to take it over to the local auto shop where I know some of the guys and throw it up on their lift to look around. I normally pull the truck in and lift it myself, but the boss was in,and for insurance reasons they have to have an employee do it (completely understandable).

After they got it lifted I went into the shop and noticed that they lifted the front via the middle of the radius arms and the back via the point where the leaf springs bolt up. This seemed odd to me as I have never lifted it up this way before. Is this an okay way of doing it? Just seemed weird, but then again I'm not anywhere close to being a mechanic.

Oh and it turned out that the oil was leaking from the valve covers. I just did the intake and carb a few weeks ago and must not have done the valve cover gasket right......new covers and gaskets are on their way.....

Thanks

As to the use of the radius arms, if that is the question, every Bronco came with this little decal next to the jack:

Nothing odd about it at all, it is the only place to lift a Bronco on most 2 post lifts. I have looked into making some Bronco specific frame adapters for my lift, but until then, the front lift point on almost all the Broncos I have put on my lift have been on the radius arms.

The radius arm mounts at the frame are too far back to balance properly, and the frame angle up in front of that, so you can not support there either.

The biggest problem I find which has prompted me to make some tentitive designs for Bronco specific mounts is when:

1. You have a lifted Bronco and the angle of the radius arms downward tend to make it want to slide on the lift arms.

2. When you are removing a front axle or suspension and do not want to support by the arms.
