I'm looking for a line-lock unit to be a component of my anti-theft setup.
I've looked in Summit but they are electronic and I don't know if they are for holding just when they are charged, which would result in a battery drain.
Is there a manual unit you are using that requires no battery drain?
I am looking for a manual and will weld a small cage around it so it can be locked in the lock-up position.
I tried the search function but the site won't let me search.

Thanks

There's one set up for exactly what u want. I have it on my 72. I got it from brakelock.com but not sure if they're still in business. TSM also had em in their catalog. You just have a circle key on dash or where you choose to mount it. Locks all 4 wheels.

I can't imagine constant pressure on rubber brake seals being a good idea long term.

It really isn't optimal, however they can be invaluable when off-roading or just showing off in the short term. Anyone who uses a line lock (manual or electro) to hold their vehicle for extended periods has a much higher risk tolerance than I do, but to each his or her own.

The theft deterrent part of the line lock is only used when parked in the forest for hours at a time unattended. It's going to be used in conjunction with a fuel pump, and ignition source kill switch.
Thanks for the input.

twin stick it, lock the front hubs and put the front in low and the rear in high. :)

Most people have no idea how to fix that issue, and if they do happen to find the ignition and fuel switch and get it started, they will bind up the driveline so bad they wont be able to get it free without jacking it up.

In fact a lot of twin stick bronco owners would know what to do.

I took mine to the tuner a few months ago and they somehow managed to knock the rear stick into neutral. After they worried over it for about 20 minutes they called me up. Still had to talk them through it. :)

I have the twin stick conversion for it but haven't installed it yet. I have the stainless set, and come to think about it, I could TIG on a couple of tabs so I could lock them apart with a straight bar in the positions you mentioned. Hmmmm.

will work for most

anyone that understands what is going on can always just unlock the front hubs. Lock them together with the rear in low so they at least cant drive off very fast. :)

Honestly the fuel pump shut off is the biggest part of it. I had a 55 Chevy and a CJ5 both with Chevy TPI systems that were both cranked down to a dead battery because the thief never figured out why it wouldn't start. :)

If some one gets past a fuel switch and an ignition switch he's probably smart enough to deal with locking the twin sticks.

Line locks are great used for their intended use. Not designed for a substitute for a mechanical parking brake or theft deterent. Electric ones are usually rated for one minute, manual ones can/will become stuck or just plain bleed off.
