Friday and Saturday, friends from NC, TN, SC and GA. got together for a little run in Black Mountain Offroad Park, Harlan, Ky. For those who have run this park, it was about as dry as I have seen it in 6 years. Trails run on Friday:
Crawford's Cry, Lower Damnation, Waterfall, Cream Puff, Grapevine and Middle Rock garden. Small group so we covered ALOT of ground. No stills from Friday, my wife did get one short vid clip of the truggy being abused a bit to get up the waterfall. The "smoke" when it first starts is tire smoke, not engine :)

Sat. we ran Mason Jar, Frankenstien, Little Jagger, Lower Profanity, Upper Profanity and Rail trail. I am attaching some pics of the broncos and another link to truggy abuse on Little Jagger(I had never made this obstacle before)-vid stops just as I am getting out the top.........

Very pleased with the new 40" MTR cheater tires :)

Anyone in the southeast that wants to see some beautiful country and great trails should consider a trip to

Great time with great friends.

Several times this weekend I thought this was the weekend that people run Harlan. It has always been on my wife's birthday so I have never gone. Weather sure was nice for a weekend of wheeling!

Looks like a good time was had by all Karl. Wish we could have been there to watch the rock climbs. Glad the weather cooperated, its pretty messy there when it rains.

Great trip! Weather was perfect - shorts and short sleeve shirt all day was comfortable. Lows at night only in the 50's and the leaves were just starting to turn.

Good to see everyone and meet some new faces too. Hope everyone made it home safe!

I've got some pics on my phone I'll get uploaded to photobucket and post.

Looks like a great time. Great pics. I have to ask this, and let me say I have never been rock climbing nor have I ever seen rock climbing live, so I might not have a clue... But with the dog in the back, steep climbing, if the rig goes over, is it a good chance he is dead... I also ask this because I love labs and have had 5 of them.... If you love yours like I did mine, I know you would be devastated if something happen to it.... If its a situation that you have done this long enough and know what to expect, then that would explain it. But looks like a great trip.

Good question- that's my rig, my dog and me driving. It was a very slow climb even though it is steep. If there's any person on the trail who is the old lady/school bus driver on the trail, it is me. She is harnessed in, she happened to be looser than she is normally but if there were any chance of us going over, she certainly wouldn't be in there. We were actually stuck on the back bumper, we got her safely to the side and winched up. She was very unhappy that she was separated from me! 13+ years of having Ben (my first lab mix along), we are all pretty experienced as to when to worry about getting them out. Totally understandable that you can't tell what it's really like from still pics. I'm not a wild driver compared to so many I know! My 408 is a bit of a waste in there! ;D

Pretty much what I thought. A person who knows exactly what they are doing. One day I will try to get on a trail, even if as a passenger. Looks like it was a really good time.

Thanks
Scott

You just let us know when you can make it to one. I take reservations on my extra seats, you just need to be early or check to see if I have a cancellation ;D.

My backwards facing aren't always the most popular but they are better than nothing! Two poor kids ended up in them with Penny on their laps this past Saturday when we had a catastrophic engine failure Friday! I know most everyone who has an empty seat is usually more than happy to share the fun and get someone out there who needs more encouragement to get their rig finished! ;)

Any time you can come out-you are welcome-There is another event in the SE (TN Nov. 15/16), with similar terrain and trails. Suzy gave you a good answer that we can affirm with a smile. She is very careful with her rig and passengers-reminds me of some other people's driving when they have the "nice rig" out.....................:)

HaHa, kb I think you used the skinny pedal very wisely, looked good, Congrats!!!;D;D

Love the pics of pinemonkey, can't wait to see him at Windrock!!!

If there is a such thing as reincarination, coming back as Suzy Duff's dog, would not be a tough journey.%)%)%)

Thanks for the pics!!!
