What do you mean by drag? I do have starter issues, it doesnt engage the flywheel all the time, or right away, Sometimes I have to turn the key a couple of times before it engages and then it wont release right away when i turn the key to "on". Ive put in a combination of shims, and made sure the bolts were tight several times with no luck. The starter itself is a relatively new ford motor sports mini high torque starter.
The carb used to be an old carter 4bbl and just recently (yesterday) changed it to a truck avenger.
I guessing the timing idea is probly right because i know I have issues there. Once in a while when i turn the key to off, the engine will stay sputtering and will turn itself over a couple of times, isn't this called dieseling?
Im out of town for the weekend so I'll have to tinker with it sometime next week. Thank all of you guys for the replies, this site is awesome.
