Just dive into it head first. I wouldn't depend on others to do all the work. Basic mechanical and maintenance can be self taught if you spend a couple of bucks on a chilton's manual or the like. I'd guess 99% of the people on CB don't know EVERYTHING there is to know about EB's and that is partially why this site exists. Do searches here on topics that interest you and what you want to tackle. Ask questions. Trust me, when you do the work yourself you will have more pride in your rig. For the very technical repairs and work that just requires a lot of expertise the farm that out to those in the know. Best of luck and get to wrenching.;D

I'm with slim. The last car project I took on was when I was in high school and I have forgotten most of what I did on it. I'm 44 and learned how to weld two years ago, have made plenty of mistakes. I have been pretty amazed at the level of knowledge here on this site, so just ask the question. You won't get made fun of, (unless you do something REALLLY stupid) and people are pretty respectful. JUST GO FOR IT!:)

I have a transmission shop in Ct we do all drive train work and other repairs. I own quite a few Bronco's myself and work on quite a few for customers. I have done some work for a few of the Bones crew. Feel free to ask any questions I always love talking Bronco's!

Early Bronco Mechanic - BOSTON AREA

Was there ever a definitive answer here? I'd love some suggestions on someone who can install power steering on my '73 Bronco... maybe disc brakes (debating that latter one)
