Right now I have a cheep ass fuel pressure guage, and no regulator, hooked up to my Truck Avenger, with a mechanical fuel pump..

I want to do a real clean, safe, setup, where I have a fuel pressure regulator, and a quality guage.

I just searched the Earls web page and decide to go with Stainless steel covered 6-AN fuel lines, and AN-6 fittings.

I am going to go with part number 807695ERL to replace the stock Banjo fitting

Then attached to this I will go with a hose end addaptor to the hose, part number 800106

Then on each side of the regulator, and allso to the fuel pump I will use this 3/8 NPT - 6AN adaptors. I odered a extra 90 degree fitting just in cace.

The hose can then go to the fuel pressure regulator, once I decide where to mount that??

It should be a little safer than plain rubber hoses, but I still have to figure out how to mount the regulator, between the mechanical pump and my carb.

So if you can show me how you guys mounted you fuel pressure regulators, between your mechanical fuel pump and the Carb??

Thanks

Summit has a pressure gauge/carb fitting combo. Part # SUM-G1524 for single feed Holley.

I might have found anouther option

If I go with a regulator with 2 outlet ports, I can put a guage right onto the regulator using one of these

this is what I did. BUT.... I recommend not using a liquid filled gauge. The liquid gets air bubbles in it if not 100% full of oil (impossible to do). If it is zero when cold, after it gets warm under the hood the pressure will read 2 when pump is off. If you equalize by bleading off the air in the gauge face when it cools you will be below zero psi.

Thanks Airman
What type of hose and fittings are you using there? They look cool.

I think I have decided to go with this regulator since it has a guage port built in.

I like it because it uses the same 3/8 NPT fittings as my fuel pump. So with this I can run a hose from the fuel pump to the regulator, and then a hose from the regulator to the carb.

I would like to mount it as close to the carb as possible, so it looks like I have to fabricate a custom bracket of some kind.

hose

fittings

I bought all of my stuff from a local speed shop but Jegs and Summit have them too. I would try to keep my regulator away from anything that would suck to have fuel leaked on. I also ran hard tube under the frame and then changed to that blue hose coming up the fender.

Thanks for the link to the hose and fitting. I just checked out your gallery and see you run a ellectric fuel pump. That is why you can get away with mounting your regulator on the fender. Since I run a mechanical fuel pump, I have to run my regulator between the pump and the carb.

I just ordered the regulator, and I decided to go with the Earls stuff, and all stainless covered 6AN fittings and hoses. I do appreciate your help especially the advice to stay away from a liquid filled guage. I found this non liquid filled guage.

I would mount the regulator on the inner fender just above the fuel pump. Them plumb from there to the carb.

I thought I read where these regualtors dont work very well with mechanical fuel pumps. I will try to check but you might want to look into that.

I thought about it a little more last night and today. I am thinking of moving my coil to the passenger side of the engine. Then I can mount the regulator to the spot where my coil is now. It would make the routing of the fuel lines easy and give the front of the engine a even look.

I never thought about the fuel pump. I thought everyone was like me. I did all of my fuel delivery work because of vapor locking. Good luck on your set-up. It sounds like you are on the right track. I do really like the electric fuel pump by the way for performance and for security as its simple to make it not work.
