Your signature doesn't say but do you have a D60 or plans for one? I had long tube headers and when the 60 was installed I had to switch to WH shorties.

Long tubes will rub on Cage long arms and get smashed between frame and arm.will not work if you ever go full width. You really wont notice a difference in the torque unless your on a dyno. Had long tubes on mine, changed to shorties. the long tubes also get bit by rocks if you wheel seriously.

I had WH long tube headers on my 351, with a NP435. With standard motor mounts, the flange plate at the end was close to the frame. I just got them hot, and massaged them away from the frame with a wrecking bar. the fill and drain holes were a bit of a challenge to get to, but doable. I went with WH shorty stainless titanium when they rusted out after 7 years. I will add, the long tubers were a pain to install.

Interesting! I have long tubes and would like to go to shorties! Trade???

I had long tubes on my 302, and when I installed my 351 and the same headers, the collector flanges hit the frame rails, and had some interference with the clutch linkage. Talked with Tom at Toms Bronco parts. He said they run into that quite often. They resolve it by bending the headers. So, I let the engine idle for a bit, the put a 2x4 between the header collector and the frame, and pried! Gained about 1 1/2" clearance to the frame, and reduced the clutch linkage interference.

I guess I would have to see what you've got. Mine are WH ceramic coated shorties. These were on my 302 HO. I had to do a little inner fender well surgery on the passenger side to get them on the stroker.

I ran my duffs for 12 years on my 302 and now a year and a half on my efi 351. the passenger side sits pretty close to the floor so I purchased a 1 inch body lift that I haven't installed. My wife says it's to hot on her feet in the summer so she never wants to take a ride with me (it's fine with me though, lol)
