Looking for opinions on LUBR tire size

Hey y'all. I'm getting ready to start on my '66 project that been sitting for the last few years and I'm looking for some opinions on what tires to run. Yeah, I know tires should be thought of right before I finish so they don't rot away, but I want to make sure everything works together before I start dumping money into this thing.

The plan is for my bronco to be a weekend cruiser (to shows and such), but at any point be able to handle a trail with ease.

I've got a 2" body lift with a 2.5" suspension lift on the way. My quarter panels are uncut, and would like to keep it that way for now. I've seen people fit 32's, 33's and even 35's. I'm thinking I'll do 33x10.50r15's, but what are some of y'all's thoughts?

(Pictures if you've got 'em so I can see how everything looks ;) )

If you are asking for opinions...I'd go with a 31x10.5, especially if you are running a lift. I like the tires tucked into the wheel wells. Plus, I think 31s have enough ruggedness to still give the EB that aggressive, but classic look.

With your lift, you can probably get away with 33s...but once again...I get a 33x10.5 just for aesthetic purposes. But, to each their own.

I have that much lift with those tires.

With the 33x10.5x15" tires you'll have to move the rear axle back, pretty easy to do actually and yes they'll fit and stuff the tire with the correct offset wheel and the late 70's/early80's factory Ford mags work great. Yes stock steel wheel will work well with the axle moved back 1" Thinking I'm now on my 5th wheel/tire combo on my LUBER :) sitting on 34x10.5x17" BFG's right now

Take it from me, until you are ready to drive it, leave it on crappy rollers. I blew two sets of tires with flat spots sitting for 5 years each. Don't be me. Same goes for motor, leave that till last unless it is driveable.

I was planning on doing tires right before I started driving it, but why the motor? My plan of attack was to start with the engine/trans than work my way to the suspension, brakes, wheels, and tires; then start on the body work after it's running and driving.

Is there a better order to do it in?

How important is it to move the axel back? I'm getting ready to buy tires. I was going to go with 31x10.5's on a 2.5" suspension and 1" body lift. I still have the body off the frame and if I should move the axel now is the time to do it.

I think you will clear, but the 1" back actually looks better as well. Plus gives you a little bit more room, all it requires is drilling the perches and re-installing the leafs or new perches.

After some looking, I also really want full disk brakes, but they take a 1/2" spacer in the back. What size tires would fit flush with the quarters with my 4.5" total lift? (Similar to ngsd's bronco from earlier in the thread)

What brakes take a 1/2" spacer? That's a new one to me.

if you want to move your axle back Ruff Stuff has a "Kit" for that. Rear Spring Perches and U-Bolt Plates with 3 mounting options.

Even with a 31x10.50 you will need a 7-8" wheel with about 4" of Wheel Backspacing to tuck the tire inside the rear wheel well.

Never heard of a Disc Brake kit that needs a spacer???

IMO, no need for disks in rear. Front yes.
