So, trailblazer manifolds clear the frame? Would trailblazer headers I wonder?
Will factory truck intake clear the hood or does it need a car intake?
What about accesories, and clearance issues with the truck stuff or need car accesories?

It's a great budget swap if you can use factory truck stuff, if you need to find car parts to make it all fit it easily triples the cost if not more and becomes less attractive ;)

Any ls car manifolds will hug the block. The truck manifolds taper out

Most of the car manifolds make motor mounts a huge PITA. the sanderson headers are actually closer and easier to do motor mounts, built a lot of rigs with them.

Never said they were easy.

Chances are you can find some stock manifolds if it's a budget build

Accessors are 2001 corvette with a 2005 corvette water pump. It's 2 inches shorter. I used sanderson block huger headers. Advanced adapters universal motor mounts. Cmb motors wiring harness. Everything else was custom made.

What else was custom made? Besides the intake tube.

Oil pan?
Radiator?
Steering shaft?
Throttle Linkage?
Gas Tank?

Oil pan is chevy LS hotrod pan, radiator is Ron Davis custom. He's done a few and has all the specs. Steering shaft Is from BC broncos. Came with replacement column nothing special. Throttle linkage is lokar and gas tank is the good old Sherman tank. I'll post some photos when I take some.:)

I sure wish I had room for the valve covers. with the engine pushed to the drivers side to clear the passenger drop front axle its all really friendly with the brake booster bracket, enough that I had to relocate a couple of the coil packs.

Yeah I had to trim the brake booster bracket to clear the coil packs.

I've talked this over with my fabricator (my very own dad) and he's all for swapping an LS based motor in my bronco. I'm probably just going to stick with a 5.3 or 6.0, whichever I can find for a reasonable price. I plan on doing H/C/I before I install it. What major work needs to be done for the motor to properly fit? Will any firewall modifications need to be done? We can make the motor mounts and transmission cross member so that's not a problem.

I could understand the want to use an LS or a bow tie many moons ago due to availability and affordability of parts BUT now a days, the availability of Blue Oval motors and the more than not level playing field for aftermarket, I just do not see the reason to task the whole retrofit of powertrane unless you are just a chebby nut... and if thats the case, why not just do a blazer?

the only reason I did it was i had a Blazer that I killed and literally had everything sitting there, wasn't until after I had it finished and needed a new power plant that I put in the LS. I was looking for an S10 or Ranger for a cab truck figuring an EB was not in the budget but some EB brothers convinced me otherwise, which I'm very glad they did.

the other is money, compare putting together a small block Ford that gets into the 400hp range WITH fuel injection that will support it and install it for less than $3k that has factory support, its very difficult to do. I can go to any parts store anywhere and buy any sensor or part i may need, nothing is aftermarket except the air filter. can even stop and do diagnostics if needed just about every little mountain town has a mechanic that can scan and diagnose a GM engine.
