It's an awesome looking setup. Just gotta save up to pony up for one of those hydroboost system

it's worth every penny IMO...on the street my vacuum booster was ok...off road it wasn't really. i can't wait to hit the mountains now that i can easily stop and hold myself on steep declines.

The lockrite locker in my rear axel doesn't seem to be disengaging. And I noticed my rear u-joint is completely shot now. Do you guys think the axel being spooled basically would cause the u-joint to fail? I'm replacing the u-joint now and I'm probably going to pull the lockrite out too. I'll probably go back to open for now and may go with an ARB. I'd like to have the ability to unlock.

New dash installed.

Truck rewired and insulation and carpet installed as well. Rewiring wasn't perfect though so a few of my gauges aren't working currently. Need to chase down bad ground (I hope that's all it is).

ARBs installed since last post too. Things were looking pretty good until I broke off a bolt in the intake yesterday trying to install a new thermostat housing. So now I have to pull and replace the intake later this week. Only big mod left that I want to do is install the throttle body injector system I have.

Yeah man let me know when you're coming so I can plan on being around.

I replaced the intake manifold this weekend and it went well. No additional set backs which is always a risk and near certainty for me! Also installed the BC Broncos center console thing I got from them. It's a nice touch to the new interior and dash.

She's running great now. Very little left to do mechanically so I'm really happy about that. Driving around daily now without fail.

I have a heim steering system I got from Duff I'm going to install this weekend hopefully. I have to drill out the knuckles and pitman arm to 3/4" to install or I'd already have it done.

Today my new Truck-Lite bulbs came and I got them installed already. I haven't driven around with them yet, but I love what I've seen so far.

Old

New

Comparison new (left) to old (right). I should've turned the lights off in the garage first.

New low

New high

I think they look really cool. Low

High

They stick out a little further than the originals, but it's not that noticeable and the improvement is way worth it.

I love LEDs...I'm going to have them everywhere as they keep dropping in price!

I picked up a Heim joint (Stonecrusher?) steering system from James Duff that I tried to install today. I had to drill the knuckles and pitman to 3/4" for this. I was nervous about that since it's so permanent but with 2 new drill bits it was easy to do and I didn't even have to take the wheels or pitman off the truck. Then I went to install. I need 2 left drive thread heims and 2 right drive thread ones. Of course I got 3 rights and 1 left! I have no doubt Duff will make it right as they're awesome guys, but you can imagine the frustration when I'm plugging along and almost there! I should have mocked everything up first because now that I've drilled I can't even put the old steering back on so she's dead in the water...again.

I'm trying to decide if I should go knuckle over or under. One of the best things about these kits is they can go either way. The problem is it looks like the drag link saddle runs into the crown of the track bar at hard right turn when installed over. It looks like it may a bit when it's installed under as well, but not as bad...and they provided a new crown nut to correct this.

The other concern which may be nothing is I've always tried to get the drag link and track bar perfectly parallel but with this (especially knuckle over) the drag link is past parallel in what I'm hoping is a good way. Is this OK?

Mocked over:

Mocked under:

You can see how it hits the C-bushing thing on full right turn when mocked under:

When over it hits the track bar bolt.

What do you guys think? Over or under? Should I pick up a new normal pitman arm? With a normal one the bars would be more parallel. I'm hoping it's OK this way. I know it's not when the drag link is at a greater angle.

I'm also hoping to get rid of the steering stabilizer with this new system. It is heavy duty and awesome. Just my luck to get the wrong parts!

Go with the TRO and add a riser to the axle mount for the trac-bar, with all the lift you have and as short as the drag link and trac bar are they need to be as close to horizontal with the axle and parallel to each as possible, this way you want get any bump steer.

I spoke with Denver at Duff and he is expediting the shipment of the correct part. Great guy and company there!

I asked him about this a bit and he suggested I use the trac-bar drop bracket which is great because I actually already have this and just removed it when I was able to get the bars parallel without it before. Going to give it a shot and see how it turns out. Hopefully I'll have the new joint by Wednesday.

Hopefully everything works out for ya! if you decide to go TRO and the track bar bolt at the axle is in the way. You can Buy the Track bar riser bracket from duffs, remove the drop bracket at the frame and install a stock pitman arm. The Duffs Track bar riser bracket uses the stock track bar bolt to position the bracket but you remove the old bolt and slide a new one in the opposite direction so it doesn't contact the track bar. then the bracket gets welded on. Whats nice about this track bar riser bracket is it does not get in the way of the heavy duty lower coil retainers you have on your bronco.

Sorry for the mix up on the Hardware.

I appreciate it, but don't worry about the hardware, Mike...It happens!

Denver's always been great to work with and take the time to talk stuff through with me. We talked about all this and I think if I use the new crown bolt for the trac-bar you guys supplied with the steering system and grind the extra bolt down it'll be OK with the drop bracket. If not I'll give the riser a try. Denver said that with the lift the drop pitman was probably better because I get better angles that way (i.e. more flat).

Honestly my steering was OK right before this point...only minor bump steer due to bad tie rod ends on the old system, but I really want to wheel this truck and figured now was the time to beef up the last none beefy thing underneath!
