Is it easier to install the vent and filler tubing on the tank first then to the filler neck or vice versa?

I installed the tubing on the filler neck first and slid it onto the tank. It was aggravating as I was doing it by myself. It makes it a little easier to work with if you put a little wd40 or oil where the tubing slides over the filler neck.

We did the tank first. You can loosen the filler neck mount and move it around to get the hose on after.
