Masterac console?

I have a Masterac console that I bought probably 25 years ago. Anybody remember them? I think they were made for jeeps, but I bought it with the plan to install it in my 73. Of course, they're out of business now. There weren't a lot of options for EB consoles back then - at least I don't remember Tuffy being that prevalent. Anyway, I want to use the Masterac because it's way more beefy and secure than the Tuffy consoles. It shouldn't be that difficult, but thought I'd ask if anybody here has installed one of these...

Wow, haven't heard that name in awhile. I think we put a few in over the years (years ago) but I don't have any clue who's they were or where they ended up. And pretty sure no pics, but I'll look anyway.

Definitely post up some pics of your console.
All this talk makes me want to go mount my Lido boxes in the back again! Remember those?

Here are some pics of the console. I can't believe that kept track of this thing for so long and haven't lost the keys - through 3 big moves no less. The main compartment is cavernous and the smaller one is big enough to mount a small CB and/or HAM radio. Each compartment has a tumbler cam lock. Also, there is a lockable rod that goes through the front and extends over the main compartment door which must be removed to open either door.

EDIT: For some reason I can only attach 1 pic - sorry for the multiple posts

I have more questions than answers.
Dang, that's a secure console. I like it. Everything now requires a cup holder or two.

If you pay the $12 to become a contributor you can attach pictures much easier and help the site to boot.

That does look like a solidly built console. I have never seen one like that before.

I guess you could install in either direction. Smaller compartment to the front or rear depending on your preference. What is the small tray feature on the small side?

I had think about it, but I actually think the smaller compartment is supposed to be in the rear. I have cup holders that mount to the straight front side of the large compartment. The small tray is just that - a tray to put whatever you'd like quick access to.

EDIT: Yes I will probably pay the $12 to become a contributor. I've been a member since 2002, but life got in the way and my 73 has been sitting for nearly 20 years. I just got the fire again and have it running and I'm in the process of kicking the dust off. I gave a 77 that needed a lot of work to a friend and we are working together to get them both respectable again...

I have the tuffy and like it better with its one piece top and padded arm rest. with the tuffy it mounts to the floor with spacers under it. you space it up and push it forward to where the cup holders just touch the ramp on the shifter tunnel. spacing it up a little lets it clear the seat belt bolts. spacers were just little sections of steel tube about an inch long. the 2 compartments of yours lets you mount a small radio or Cb in one compartment and lock it up when not in use.

I believe if I owned it, I would remove the little button heads on the larger section and added a padded arm rest like the tuffy consoles come with. Nice looking console!
