I'll be wanting to do new paint in matte black. I haven't had anything painted since my 69 Camaro in 1987. What's cost on something like that these day?

Way too many variables. What shape is it in now? How much body work needs to be done? Are you taking the Bronco to the shop disassembled? What part of the country do you live in? Do you want single stage or a base/clear? What do you want painted? Inside of tub? Engine compartment? Doors? Top? ect.... way too many variables to get a good estimate.

If it's a scuff and shoot, no body work needed, detrimed, just the outside with doors, no top with base/clear then you are looking at about 4-5K in my area which the labor rate is $44. The hard part is finding a shop that will do it for two reasons. One, it's more profitable to work on modern cars. Two, flat paint jobs an be a pain to paint since you have to pay close attention to overlap and keeping dirt out of the paint. You can't buff a flat/semi gloss paint job. It brings the gloss back if you do. You might have to live with some dirt in the paint job.

There are good deals out there. I had mine stripped to bare metal, rust repaired, base/clear, rhinoed interior, painted engine bay, roll cage and under carriage for $5k in Orange County CA. Included disassembly (not reassembly). It took 6 months as they did it in between other more lucrative jobs. Doubt my guy would do this much for so little again, but if you hunt around, there are always deals.

Don't do flat, whatever you do. It'll never look clean. Get satin or matte for sure. You could always get it vinyl wrapped for $1,500-2,500, then when you don't like that look, peel it off. Just need a solid smooth painted surface below the vinyl

Not sure if you want a permanent finish or not but plasti-dip seems to be popular right now. I'm not a fan of matte finishes. Looks unfinished IMHO.

5k for all that work is a great price HB.

Take a look at John Deere Blitz Black.
Made by Valspar.

It's a satin type not flat.

Original purpose was farm tractor hoods, so it is very UV resistant.

Has a long history of use on hot-rods.
