Well I may bite the bullit and gamble on one of those cheap "Chicago Electric" 3.8 HP winches today from Harbor freight. I can get an extended warranty for about $60 to cover the chance that it breaks often.. I am pretty sure after doing my research that the REP 8000 Ramsey is the same manufacturer. And I read that more than 1 winch winch company rebadges this to fit there product line for entry level. I am guessin I will need this winch very little but I had a vacant spot on my bumper for one so I may as well go cheap.
