Michael Starck?

Hey brethren, I see "In memory of Michael Starck" on a lot of the signatures. I also see the quote " deep faith eliminates fear on the trail" I hate to bring it up but I would be curious to find out the meaning as his memory seems very close to alot of the peoples hearts on here.

If it is none of my business completely understood but I am genuinely interested as I saw the OCBR dedication plaque as well. Thanks!
