Hey Midwest Bronco Fools! - BroncoJack and I are planning a very informal fall colors run around Lake Geneva, Wisconsin on Saturday, October 19. Should be close hopefully on the local tree color turn by then. It has also been way too long since we've all gotten together for anything. This a rain or shine event and there is no "rain date". Broncos actually can get wet. They are trucks. It is okay. Little kids enjoy watching the wiper assembly.
We are planning to meet up at my shop in Richmond, IL at around 9 a.m. (5513 George St., Richmond, IL). Richmond is right on the Illinois/Wisconsin border. A good midpoint for the Milwaukee/Madison Cheeseheads and the Chicago FIBs. ;D It's the perfect time of year for Broncos, so Indiana, Iowa, and Michigan folks, come on out too! Departure is planned for around 10 a.m. We can push it a little later maybe if it looks like it would make a difference for the out of state guys.
We'll wander up HWY H, HWY 50, and around Snake Rd. around Lake Geneva. Still kind of playing by ear, but lots of good rustic and low key country roads up this way.
Lake Geneva has plenty of activities and shops if the significant other comes along rather be shopping than cruisin' in your bouncy Bronco. We're thinking of grabbing a burger and beer later at Foley's Bar & Grill just west of Lake Geneva on 50 after we've had our fill of window time (probably 1 or so).
There is a ton of great camping in the area too, so make a weekend out of it and join us for the afternoon. Hope to see many new and old friends on October 19.
